  1. These were very, very tasty! A bit messy and sticky, though. I followed the other reviewer's advice and nuked the milk and that helped a lot, but wow...still very sticky and messy. I had to wash my fingers off after every other one just because so much coconut would build up on them-my fingers were ready for the oven! LOL! I also tried the last few strips with imitation honey instead of the milk, because I ran short. It shaved 30 calories per TBS and worked just fine! Taste was so similar...because the coconut flavor demands all of the attention. Next time I think I will use low cal bread and imitation honey all the way. They need to come up with sugar free coconut! (Oh, I guess they did! It's called unsweetened coconut!) :-) Thanks!

  2. Delicious! I put the condensed a few seconds on microwave and was easier to dip the sticks on it! It's a keeper for sure! Thans a lot!

  3. I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong, but these just didn't turn out the way I thought they would. I had trouble with the whole dipping and rolling procedure. After baking, all I could taste was the sweetened condensed milk. I was the only one in the family that would even try them. I'm sorry, but I won't be making these again.

  4. These are perfect for me! I love sweets and I love coconut! I love these! I scaled the recipe down and made some with leftover french bread and some with regular white bread. I cannot tell you if one is better than the other and I have sampled too many times to keep trying to figure it out. It was a good excuse though. Thank you!!! I absolutely love love love them!!!

  5. Fantastic!! Nobody will tell that they started out as stale bread!!! Kids and adults alike loved them I couldn't believe how simple they were to make and so photogenic too ;-)
