A-C School Butter Cream Frosting

"My Mom sent me to a cake decorating class. This isn't that unusual today but this was back in 1987. This is the frosting recipe from that class. So, grateful to my mom for doing this for me."

• Yields: 1 cake
• Serves: 12

ingredients

• 2 lbs powdered sugar or 7 cups powdered sugar
• 1 1⁄3 cups Crisco
• 1⁄2 cup hot water
• 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
• 1⁄2 teaspoon clear vanilla

directions

1. Beat together 7 - 10 minutes.
2. May add 1 tablespoon meringue powder per pound of powder sugar; this helps stablize the icing.
