The bottom of this was so hard we had trouble cutting it with a fork. taste was fine, but I think either the cook time is too long or else it needs baking powder or something. Will not make again.

We love this at our house! I've been making it for some years, since I found it in one of Jill Conner Browne's "Sweet Potato Queens" books. (She calls the recipe "Chocolate Stuff".) Her recipe is identical except she calls for only 2 T. cocoa -- which, over time, I had increased to the 1/4 cup you call for. I also only use about 7/8 cup of sugar; the full cup makes it a little over-sweet for me. I make this whenever I have a serious chocolate craving -- it sure hits the spot!

Oh, the possibilities!! We had last minute company coming over so I managed to get this in the oven & clean up before they arrived - very nice!! I used whole peanuts so I didn't have to take the time to chop them & I also added 1 cup peanut butter chips. I served warm & it was so rich & fudgey & delicious. I wish I'd had some ice-cream or whipped cream to fancy it up even more. The cold brownies were just as yummy as they were warm.

Yummy!!! This is so good. We ate it right out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I used margarine instead of butter and I also added some dissolved coffee. This is definitely a keeper.

Most people have these ingredients all the time! Perfect for a quick dessert or just because. Easy to dress up a little with a sprinkling of powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. I am definately making these often! Thanks!
