Unsurprisingly, all of the cheese was from Wisconsin.

It turned out to be a pungent day in the neighborhood, when the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin organization attempted to slice into one of the world’s holy-est records.
On Wednesday in Madison, Wisconsin, a reported 45,000 cheese fans and dairy lovers came together to witness one of mankind’s greatest success stories: the vanquishing of a Guinness World Record for the world’s biggest cheese board.
Occupying an entire street in the downtown area of the city, the massive Dutch wood block—measuring in at seven feet wide and 35 feet long—supported 4,437 pounds of Wisconsin dairy, crafted into 145 varieties of cheese.
The most melty and impressive of additions was a 2,000-pound wheel of cheddar cheese, which could have undoubtedly fed an army with grilled cheeses for a whole month.
Protecting the cornucopia of curds was a 3-D-printed “barn,” created by the non-profit Better Block Foundation, which seeks to facilitate community engagement through urban planning.
When it was all over and the old records lay shattered on the floor, the excessively cheesy victory was celebrated with free tastings. Raffles for cheese supported the Great American Milk Drive, while all leftover cheese was donated to the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
