Whisky Me’s Pouches Speak to the Alcoholic Child in All of Us

Savor in a glass or squeeze ‘em straight in your mouth.

There is something so satisfying about the supple flexibility of liquid contained by plastic. It is so simple, yet allows foods like applesauce to be thrown into a child’s lunch without hesitation. And do we even need to mention the Capri Sun cooler? Now, with the alcoholic element added, adults get to partake in the pouch pleasure too.
Whisky Me is a UK-based startup (for now, they say), founded by the folks at the Black Rock whiskey bar in London, that sends its subscribers a cool new pouch of single malt whiskey every month, for a low fee of $9. The pouches come filled with five centiliters (1.7 fluid ounces) of whiskey (or whisky, if it’s from Scotland, wink wink) that can be consumed in a glass or straight out of the bag. Probably not the best way to savor the flavor of your $9 shot, but it’ll do in a pinch.
Not only are these whiskeys refined and diverse, they also fit through the letter box, so there’s no need to wait for the mailman. Each delivery comes with an understandable description, and you can even take a tour of the distilleries via drone on the company’s social media channels.
All this without the pretension that comes with buying a big bottle of booze, and certainly with none of the sticker shock.
Now that’s a juice box we can get behind.
