In nature, some species camouflage themselves in order to avoid becoming dinner. In the food world, some snacks camouflage themselves because why the heck not.

The ‘Avolato’ is gelato, if gelato was a stick bug that secretly wanted to get eaten. It’s made of a blend of gelato and Hass avocado accented with an avocado stone made of a combination of peanut, almond, walnut, Brazil nut and flax seed butters, with a touch of soy milk. The whole thing is stuffed inside of a real avocado skin, and sold at Selfridges department store on Oxford Street in London.

Not only is this vegan, gluten-free snack camouflaged as fruit, but it’s served on a biodegradable barquette with a bamboo spoon. So if you didn’t want to eat it then, you certainly will now that you’ve discovered how eco-friendly it is.

The Avolato is made by Snowflake Luxury Gelato and costs £9.50 ($13.22), according to The Standard.

“The customer can eat everything,” Snowflake’s head gelato chef Silvia Gaetta told the U.K. news outlet, “and at the end there will be no waste because there is only the shell of the avocado.”

Now camouflage yourself and your wallet as you eat 20 of these treats. Make sure to un-camouflage yourself for the Instagram snapshot.
