September 14, 2017 — Back in ye olden days, Nutella was only available in containers. How times have changed. After opening a bar in Eataly NYC and a full-on cafe in Chicago, brand owner Ferrero International S.A. is seeking to open a second cafe in Manhattan.
According to Commercial Observer, the Nutella Cafe will be situated in the a 2,200-square-foot ground-floor section of a new residential building at 116 University Place, between Union Square and Washington Square Park. We would imagine that it is almost guaranteed to be overrun by NYU students seeking a sugar high, as well as tourists exploring Greenwich Village.

If the new location is anything like the original in Chicago, Nutella-crazed New Yorkers can expect Nutella crepes, Nutella gelato, Nutella waffles, Nutella croissants, Nutella baguettes, Nutella pancakes, Nutella French toast and Nutella oatmeal. Basically anything you ever imagined eating Nutella on, you’ll be able to find at the Nutella Cafe. Except for maybe chicken wings (yeah, we just imagined that for you).
In the meantime, you obviously don’t have to wait all anxious-like for the cafe to open; grab a jar of the sticky-sweet chocolate-hazelnut spread and treat yourself with one of these rich recipes.
