Two thousand, one hundred and eighteen pounds. That’s what the scale read on Saturday when Joe Jutras’ giant squash hit the scale at a big fruit and veg weigh-in at Frerichs Farm in Warren, Rhode Island.

Praise be to the Gourd Lord: the giant fruit broke the record for heaviest squash. According to the Associated Press, the victory marks Jutras’ third time breaking a world record for behemoth foods. This makes him the first man in history to achieve such a streak—at least in the three most competitive categories. The squash win follows his victory in 2006 for longest gourd (126.5 inches) and his triumph in 2007 for largest pumpkin (1,689 pounds).

For those in the New York City area who love gargantuan gourds, Jutras’ fruit will be on display at the New York Botanical Garden for Giant Pumpkin Weekend (October 21st and 22nd).

As it turns out, this has been a big week for big fruit: on Monday, the record for heaviest pumpkin (set last year at 1,910 pounds) was smashed at the 44th World Championship Weigh-Off by a man named Joel Holland. His pumpkin weighed a whopping 2,363 pounds. That’s a lot of pie.
