Recently, Dunkin’ Donuts has been branching out from their traditional coffee and doughnut menu, unveiling such wacky creations as a beer brewed with coffee and Girl Scout cookie -inspired drinks.
This week, the coffee chain continued their trend of unexpected treats with the introduction of a $2 snack menu they are testing at multiple Boston locations.
In case you’re looking for something a little more unique than a glazed doughnut, these new concoctions might be for you. The doughnut lover’s restaurant is introducing several savory snacks to their customers, including waffle-coated chicken fingers and ham & cheese rollups.
But if these menu items are a little too out there for you, doughnut worry.

For those hungry for a twist on the chain’s classic, try the doughnut fries. The churro look-alikes have already taken the internet by storm, gaining rave reviews on Instagram and Twitter.
The new menu, created for those of us who hit the 4pm slump, could be released nationally, depending on the response of customers.
A spokesperson for the brand said on the new menu, "The test is designed to gather valuable feedback from consumers, franchisees and their employees to help inform future decisions about a possible national rollout."
Although there hasn’t been a date announced for a national release, we at Genius Kitchen are keeping our fingers crossed. Because honestly, the mashup of a french fry and a doughnut is the treat we didn’t know we were missing.
