On Sunday at Milan Fashion Week, fashion eye-candy took on a new, almost edible meaning with wildly vibrant food patterns from Dolce & Gabbana.

The theme of D&G’s spring summer collection show for 2018 was the Queen of Hearts, and the show started out dark. The Sicily-inspired designers began by sending Godfather-esque funerary roses, crowns and somber colors down the runway. Then the graphics showed up. Matching the deck-of-cards backdrop, the models appeared wearing playing card patterns. These were followed by the Warhol-style veggie Pop Art, which came at us like popcorn out of a hot pot.

The dress patterns featured carrots, peas and cabbage, while the jewelry hung in the form of Sicilian cannolis, eggplants and oranges. For dessert, spectators got to see a lace-up corset and dress patterned with roses and cookies.
