It’s a chocolate wonderland, located in the midst of the country’s other retail wonderlands. Elbow past the throngs of Times Square tourists and you’ll find yourself standing below a 91-foot digital billboard proclaiming the gospel of candy. You’ve done it; you’ve finally arrived. Hershey’s Chocolate World is bigger than ever, and it’s yours for the taking.
The Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction opened on December 14th in its new Times Square space with a smattering of new experiences and more candy than ever. Its four million annual visitors will be able to spread their wings and ‘gram, thanks to a threefold increase in square footage and the fun new ways to interact with the space.
Using the Amazing Candy Machine, visitors can mix and match their favorite candies for an anything-but-boring bag. For a personal touch, they can also create their own custom wrappers for the company’s classic chocolate bars.
The chocolate company has also partnered with the Culinary Institute of America to create the Hershey’s Kitchens Bakery, which means soft, warm goodies for all. Try brownies stuffed with Reese’s peanut butter or Cookies N’ Creme and pair them with a warm Hershey’s Melted Hot Chocolate. Feeling a bit more sprightly? The bakery also has a chocolate spritzer—a cold, New York City egg cream-inspired drink.
Did we mention that there’s a s’mores bar? And that it’s made with an entire bar of chocolate? Grab one of these head-sized campfire snacks and pop into the store’s camper van where you can take a load off for a while and enjoy your gooey treat.
Just want to do some plain old shopping? Check out the huge selection of Hershey’s brand products, including Kisses of every color. Whip out the Hershey’s app, point the camera at a bag of holiday chocolates and, thanks to fancy augmented reality technology, their packages will come alive on your screen.
Whether you’re looking for a theme-park experience or just a big bag of chocolate, odds are you’ll find it here. Just follow the insanely large television screen.
