All-You-Can-Eat Cheese at Oozefest
If you melt it, they will come.
For the third consecutive year, there is a place where you can go to partake in the opportunity of a lifetime: eating all of the wildest, cheesiest creations known to man. That place is the MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, California, and that occasion is Oozefest.
Organized by the food and drink blog Foodbeast, Oozefest is a “celebration of all things liquid gold.” Local shops will be on hand to deliver the gooey goods, the list of which so far includes Hopdoddy, Puesto, Cassell's Hamburgers, All Flavor No Grease, Mess Hall Canteen and Lucille's BBQ, with more spots to come. One item that can be expected is the Deep Fried Cheesy Ramen Hot Pocket, from the Pho King Awesome Truck. Nice. Exclusively-crafted beers from Green Cheek, Smog City, Four Sons and Good Beer will be on tap to provide respite from all the salty cheese, and to ensure that all are in good spirits (as if they wouldn’t be already).
This year, all visitors must purchase a VIP pass, which allows cheese-loving individuals to consume as much food and drink as they can stomach. The VIP pass will cost $60 before September 30th (an early bird rate), and $75 thereafter, leading up to the day of the event on October 14th.
If you go, look out for the cheese sculpture or watch a grilled cheese eating competition. And most importantly, may the cheese be with you.
