When it comes to food holidays like National Cookie Day, are they legitimate cause for celebration, or just plain-old marketing schemes? Who cares! “C” is for “cookie,” and that’s good enough for us, so bring on the free ones!

Cheryl’s Cookies

If you’re a fan of baked goods in the mail, you’ll be interested to know that Cheryl’s Cookies is offering a 30 percent discount on its “Holiday Towers.” Plus, from December 3rd until December 7th, visitors to retail locations can get 50 percent off of 48-cookie Holiday Boxes. That’s, like, 24 free cookies.

DoubleTree by Hilton

According to the company, 81 percent of people in a commissioned survey said that complementary food and drinks make them feel more welcomed at a hotel. So on December 4th, simply pop in at any DoubleTree hotel on December 4th for a fresh cookie. You don’t even have to be a guest to take advantage of the offer.

Insomnia Cookies

This trafficker of craveable cookies doesn’t settle for a single day of celebrations. Instead, they’re using the whole week to spread the good word. Beginning Monday, cookie lovers can enter to win a year of free cookies. Then on National Cookie Day, guests can treat themselves to a free traditional cookie. From December 5th to 6th, free cookies are available with delivery orders.

Mrs. Fields

This iconic American brand is almost synonymous with the cookie. It only makes sense, then, that it would be offering free cookies with any in-store purchase on December 4th.

Nestlé Toll House

While Nestlé isn’t offering free cookies, per se, they are instead offering something that might be even more important: free knowledge. Got questions? On National Cookie Day, you can ask anything you’d like via Toll House’s social media accounts and get an answer from Meredith Tomason, the brand’s head pastry chef.
