Yuletide Toffee Squares

From Quaker Oats!! YUM!

Ingredients

  • 4 12 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashoned, uncooked)
  • 1  cup  firmly packed brown sugar
  • 34 cup butter, melted
  • 12 cup corn syrup
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package  semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 23 cup  chopped  nuts

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400.
  2. Grease 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan.
  3. Combine oats, brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla and salt; mix well.
  4. Firmly press mixture into prepared pan.
  5. Bake about 18 minutes or until mixture is brown and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven.
  7. Immediately sprinkle chocolate morsels evenly over toffee.
  8. Let stand 10 minutes.
  9. Spread chocolate evenly over toffee; sprinkle with nuts.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Cut into squares.
  12. Store tightly covered in cool, dry place.
