Yellow Rice (Begrafnisrys)

Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 cinnamon sticks or 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar (we use yellow sugar, but light brown sugar will do)
- 1⁄2 cup seedless raisins or 1⁄2 cup golden raisin
- 2 1⁄4 cups water
Directions
- Mix everything together.
- You might want to use less or more water.
- Cook the rice in your favourite way, for best results, until soft and loose.
- If using cinnamon sticks, remove them before serving.
