Yeasty Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
- 1 (1/4ounce) package yeast
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk
Directions
- Dissolve yeats in warm water.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in large bowl.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Add buttermilk and yeast mixture.
- Knead.
- Roll 1/2" think.
- Cut into biscuits.
- Bake on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
