Yeasty Buttermilk Biscuits

A different twist on buttermilk biscuits. The yeast makes for a lighter biscuit

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeats in warm water.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in large bowl.
  3. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Add buttermilk and yeast mixture.
  5. Knead.
  6. Roll 1/2" think.
  7. Cut into biscuits.
  8. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
