Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer (dark)
  • 1  tablespoon  seeded and minced  jalapeno pepper
  • 3  garlic cloves, crushed through a press
  • 2  teaspoons five-spice powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 8 (1/4lb)  skinless chicken drumsticks

Directions

  1. Combine 1 cup of the beer, jalapeño pepper, garlic, five spice powder, and salt in a zip-lock bag.
  2. Add the chicken, squeeze out the air and seal the bag.
  3. Turn to coat the chicken.
  4. Refridgerate, turning the bag occasionally, 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Spray broiler rack with nonstick spray and preheat broiler.
  6. Transfer chicken to broiler rack, discard marinade.
  7. Broil chicken 5 inches from heat, turning occasionally and basting with remaining 1/2 cup beer, until thermometer reads 180*F, about 20 minutes.
  8. 3 points per serving (2 drumsticks).
