Wild Rice Hot Dish (Crock Pot)

Serves: 8-10

Ingredients

  • 2  cups wild rice, uncooked but rinsed well
  • 12 cup  slivered almonds (I personally don't add these) (optional)
  • 12 cup  chopped onion
  • 12 cup  chopped celery
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
  • 2  cups  cut up chicken (rotisserie works well too)
  • 6  cups  chicken stock or 6  cups chicken broth
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 14 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1  tablespoon parsley

Directions

  1. Wash and drain rice.
  2. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and mix it up well.
  3. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours.
  4. DO NOT REMOVE LID BEFORE RICE HAS COOKED 4 HOURS.
