Directions

  1. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup together.
  2. Add flour, coconut, baking powder and salt.
  3. Spread in large greased shortcake tin.
  4. Cook 10-15 minutes at 190c.
  5. Topping:
  6. Bring all ingredients to boil and simmer slowly until light tan colour. Stir to avoid burning. Spread on shortcake base while warm.
  7. Ice with chocolate icing when cool.
