Whole Wheat Raisin Apple Bread

A wonderful bread for those cool fall days. Makes a delightful breakfast toast. (Preparation time includes rising time). Show more

Directions

  1. Soften yeast in ½ c warm water.
  2. Mix egg, milk, honey, and ½ tsp salt.
  3. Add yeast, raisins, and apples.
  4. In large bowl mix whole wheat flour and 1 ½ c white flour.
  5. Add milk mixture.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Stir in cracked wheat.
  8. Knead in remaining flour.
  9. Let raise till double in bulk.
  10. Punch down.
  11. Shape into loaves.
  12. Let raise till double.
  13. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
  14. Cover with foil after first 10 minutes.
  15. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
