White Sangria With Calvados

This just sounded delightful when I found it in The Wichita Eagle! A little different from the other white sangria recipe on Zaar in that it is a little lighter on the Liqueur, using only Calvados (one of my favorite brandies of all time!). be sure to use soda water (not club soda) in this one. I guessed at 6-8 servings - won't know until I make it once myself. Show more

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients

  • 3  tablespoons sugar
  • 6  ounces calvados
  • 1  lime, sliced
  • 1  lemon, sliced
  • 2  peaches, cut into wedges
  • 3  apples, seeded and cut into wedges (ripe green)
  • 750  ml white wine (Rioja preferred but other dry white wine fine too)
  • 1  pint raspberries
  •  sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at table

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher.
  2. Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours.
  3. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of the fruit. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve.
