White Barbecue Sauce

This North Alabama classic was printed in Southern Living, a tribute to the great barbecue experts of the peanut state. I have yet to try it, but I cannot wait. It is said to be best used to marinate and baste grilled chicken in, but is also used as a dip and popular table condiment.

• Yields: 2 cups

Ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 cups mayonnaise
• 1⁄4 cup water
• 1⁄4 cup white wine vinegar
• 1  tablespoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
• 1  tablespoon creole mustard
• 1  teaspoon salt
• 1  teaspoon sugar
• 2  garlic cloves, minced
• 2  teaspoons  prepared horseradish

Directions

1. Whisk all ingredients together until blended. Store in the refrigerator up to 1 week.
