Western Bacon-Nut Salad

Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon, crumbled
- 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, filberts or walnuts)
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons chili sauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 head lettuce
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 1⁄4 cups celery, diced
- 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup sliced onion rings
Directions
- Cook bacon until crisp.
- Sauté nut meats.
- Drain both on paper towels.
- Meanwhile, combine sour cream, chili sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Arrange greens, tomatoes, celery and onion rings in salad bowl.
- Add bacon bits and nut meats.
- Toss lightly to blend.
- Pour sour cream dressing over all and toss gently.
- Additional crisp bacon and sautéed nuts may be passed with salad as accompaniments.
- Serves 6.
