Wenatchee Apple Bread

  1. For the batter, sift dry ingredients together.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until well-blended.
  3. Stir in eggs, applesauce, diced apples, sour cream, nuts, and raisins.
  4. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Gradually stir in flour mixture to form a smooth batter.
  6. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch loaf pan.
  7. For topping, combine all ingredients and spread on top of batter.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 50-60 minutes.
  9. Test doneness by inserting toothpick into the center of bread. If it comes out clean, it's done.
