Wearing O' the Green Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/4ounce) package  white cake mix
  • 3  egg whites (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 13 cup  oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 13 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages  lime gelatin
  • 1  cup boiling water
  • 12 cup cold water
  • TOPPING

  • 1  cup  cold milk
  • 1 (3 1/2ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) carton  frozen whipped topping, thawed
  •  green sprinkles

Directions

  1. Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish.
  2. Cool for 1 hour. In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in cold water and set aside.
  3. With a meat fork or wooden skewer, poke holes about 2 inches apart into cooled cake.
  4. Slowly pour gelatin over cake; refrigerate.
  5. In a bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes or until soft-set.
  6. Fold in whipped topping.
  7. Spread over cake.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles.
  9. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
