Warm Mushroom & Bacon Dip

Here's a quick but delicious dip for the holidays. I used Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix instead of Golden Onion Soup Mix because it's what was on hand. Personally, I doubled all the ingredients because I thought the soup mix was way too salty. I posted the recipe as written, but feel free to vary it to your tastes. Directions

  1. In 10" skillet, cook bacon and remove and crumble.
  2. Reserve 1 1/2 tablespoons drippings.
  3. Add mushrooms and garlic to reserved drippings and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender and liquid is almost evaporated.
  4. Add golden onion soup mix and pepper, then cream cheese and combine thoroughly.
  5. Simmer, stirring constantly, until cream cheese is melted.
  6. Stir in sour cream and bacon and heat through.
  7. Garnish, if desired, with parsley and additional mushrooms and bacon.
  8. Serve with bread or crackers.
