Wanda's Sour Cream Cut out Cookies & Frosting

My very favorite Christmas cookie!! Using a rolling pin with guides really helps roll the cookies even. Use plenty of flour when rolling out and flour the rolling pin also. I bought my rolling pin from Amazon.com. Show more

Directions

  1. Whisk first four ingredients together in a large bowl; set aside.
  2. In large mixer bowl, mix sour cream and butter until creamy.
  3. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Add dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  5. Divide dough in half and wrap each half in plastic wrap; refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  6. Flour area where you are going to roll cookies and flour the rolling pin with plenty of flour.
  7. Roll cookie dough to 1/4 " thickness.
  8. Cut out cookies.
  9. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes.
  10. Do not let cookies brown.
  11. Mix all frosting ingredients together until smooth.
  12. Frost cookies and decorate.
