Versatile Icing

Yields: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- food coloring
Directions
- Combine the melted butter and 1 cup powdered sugar. Whisk until the whole mixture is crumbly.
- Add about a tablespoon of milk and whisk until smooth (it should take a few minutes).
- Add the remaining powdered sugar with the milk (you may need more or less milk, depending on the humidity). Add a few drops of food coloring, if desired.
- It should be a thick enough to stay on a cookie if iced, and not run off.
