Ustad's French Toast

This is an easy to prepare breakfast which I learnt from our long time International chef, Krishna Tamang, whom we call 'Ustad' or 'Sahabji' with love. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do. Show more

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 1  . 4 slices  brown bread
  • 2  . 1 eggs, beaten
  • 3  . 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4  . 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk
  • 5  . 2 tsp. all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 6  . few tsp.  rice bran oil
  • 7  . 1/2 tsp. sugar (optional)

Directions

  1. 1. Mix the ingredients listed from 2 to 5 together in a bowl. Beat well.
  2. 2. Heat a flat bottomed griddle.
  3. 3. Dip the bread slices in the beaten mixture on either side.
  4. 4. Heat few teaspoons of rice bran oil on a flat bottomed pan. Allow the oil to spread on all sides of the pan.
  5. 5. Place the coated bread on the flat bottomed pan and cook on either side.
  6. 6. Flip and cook until lightly browned.
  7. 7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and enjoy.
  8. Note: Sugar can be used instead of salt to prepare sweet French toast.
