Use Tomatoes While Cheap

This is a recipe from my great-grandmother, Agnes Stayton. I found the title of the recipe endearing--that's all the description that there was. I think it is for a tomato sauce of sorts.

• Ready In: 2 hrs
• Yields: 2 quarts of sauce

Ingredients

• 2  quarts  about 12-14 medium-sized chopped and peeled tomatoes
• 1  cup  chopped celery
• 3⁄4 cup  chopped onion
• 1⁄2 cup  chopped green pepper
• 2  teaspoons salt
• 3  tablespoons sugar
• 1  tablespoon mustard seeds
• 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1  cup vinegar

Directions

1. Simmer.
