  1. Mix together the flours and sugar. Add the egg and milk and stir to form a viscous dough.
  2. Meanwhile heat the oil in a pan to a depth of about 6cm. Once the oil is hot add the batter 1 tbsp at a time and fry until golden.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on kitchen paper and serve once all the mandazi are done.
