  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the butter and both the sugars until the mixture is light in texture.
  4. Beat in the whole egg and egg yolk.
  5. Add the maple syrup and the vanilla.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating just until smooth.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  8. Cover and refrigerate until cold, 2-6 hours. ??.
  9. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  10. Scoop 1 tablespoon of the chilled dough onto baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart. ??.
  11. Bake until the cookies are lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
