Turkey Joes

Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground turkey breast
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, minced
- 1 carrot, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground chipotle chile
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon allspice
- 1⁄8 teaspoon clove
- salt, to taste
Directions
- In a nonstick skillet, saute the turkey until cooked through, breaking up any large chunks; drain off fat.
- Add to 4-quart slow cooker.
- Add in the remaining ingredients; stir to combine.
- Cook on LOW for 8 hours; stir prior to serving.
- Serve on whole-grain buns; add some shredded cheddar cheese.
