Tortellini Panna

A buddy of mine used to eat this dish all the time when he was stationed in Italy, but could never find it in the states. After some experimentation, he came up with this recipe and I've modified it a little. Everyone that I've made it for loves it! Show more

  1. Mince garlic.
  2. Cut Proscuitto into thin strips.
  3. Cook tortellini according to package directions.
  4. Melt butter in skillet.
  5. Add Garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add Proscuitto and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  8. Cook until cream reduced by half.
  9. Stir in parmesan and mushrooms.
  10. Cook until cheese is melted into sauce.
  11. Stir in reserved cooking liquid and tortellini and toss to coat.
