Tomato Basil Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 8 garlic cloves, chopped
- 8 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- fresh ground black pepper
Directions
- 1. In a saucepan or stock pot over medium heat, sauté the onion in the oil until golden, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, tomatoes and simmer 5 minutes. Add the water and simmer another 5 minutes. Add the basil and simmer 1 minute longer.
- 2. Place all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until chunky, about 5 seconds. Taste and season with pepper.
