Toffee Nuts

Yields: 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1  cup caster sugar
  • 12 cup water
  • 20  g butter
  • 12 cup  pouring  cream
  • 1  cup  mixed nuts like  almonds, walnuts and pecans

Directions

  1. Place sugar and water In small pot over medium heat.
  2. Stir to dissolve sugar, bring to the boil.
  3. Cook 8 - 10 minutes or till dark golden.
  4. Remove from heat, carefully add butter and cream.
  5. Stir to combine.
  6. Add nuts and stir.
  7. Spoon immediately over a pound cake and serve.
