Tilapia Caramel Nut Granola Crusted Tilapia

The carmel and nuts give the Tilapia a really great taste and it also helps keep it nice and moist.

Ingredients

  • 4  tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 12 cup  caramel, nut granola snacks (ground in a food processor is best)
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 14 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 12 cup buttermilk
  • 12 teaspoon  hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
  • 3  tablespoons flour
  • 1  tablespoon  oil, divided (for frying)
  •  lemon wedge (to garnish)

Directions

  1. 1.Combine ground Granola, salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  2. 2.Combine buttermilk and hot sauce in a medium bowl.
  3. 3.Place flour in a third dish.
  4. 4.Dredge 1 fillet in flour, dip into buttermilk mixture, then into granola mixture. Repeat with remaining fillets.
  5. 5.Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. 6.Cook 2 fillets for 3 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily.
  7. 7.Add remaining oil and cook additional 2 fillets.
  8. 8.Garnish the Caramel Nut Granola Crusted Tilapia with a lemon wedges.
