Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1⁄2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a cookie sheet.
- Beat sugars, shortening, egg, vanilla and milk until smooth.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add all at once to the shortening mixture.
- Add oats; mix well.
- Drop by teaspoons, and about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 8-10 minutes until light brown.
