The Chewy Chocolate Cookie

Yields: 36 cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups margarine, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 3⁄4 cup hershey's baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1⁄4 cup confectioners' sugar, to sprinkle on top
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, blend well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Blend into the creamed mixture. Stir in nuts if desired (my family prefers no nuts). Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft. Cool 1 minute and them remove from cookie sheet. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar if desired.
