Tater Tot Casserole, Version 9,958

I know the world would probably go on without another tater tot casserole recipe, but for safe keeping, here is my version. It's not gourmet or even all that classy, but it's comfort food at it's best! Show more

Ingredients

  • 1  lb  extra lean ground beef
  • 2  garlic cloves, minced
  • 12  white onion, minced
  • 1 (10 3/4ounce) can  cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10 3/4ounce) can  cream of celery soup
  • 10 34 ounces milk (i.e., one of the soup cans)
  •  frozen green beans (eyeball the amount)
  • 1  cup 2% cheddar cheese
  • 1 (32 ounce) package  tater tots
  •  garlic powder
  •  French's French fried onions

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Meanwhile, brown the ground beef, garlic, and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat; drain grease.
  3. Spread the cooked hamburger in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, stir together the soups, milk, and green beans.
  5. Pour the soup mixture over the beef and then sprinkle with cheese.
  6. Top with tater tots and sprinkle on some garlic powder.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  8. Top with some French’s French Fried Onions, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until onions are browned.
