Tasty Beans on Toast!

Ingredients
- 1 red onion
- 1 garlic clove (optional)
- 1 ounce butter, plus extra for the toast
- 1 (14 ounce) can baked beans
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 4 slices streaky bacon, broiled and crumbled (optional)
- 2 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
- 4 slices thick white bread
Directions
- Finely chop the onion and crush the garlic. Melt 1oz of butter and cook the onions and garlic until softened – about 5 minutes.
- Tip in the baked beans, bring to a simmer, and add the Worcestershire sauce or crumbled bacon, if using. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon the beans over hot buttered toast and sprinkle with grated cheese if liked.
