Tastes Like Butter - Substitute

This is a good, inexpensive substitue for that more expensive ICBINB spread. It came from the April 1983 issue of Woman's Circle Home Cooking. I have made it several times, freezing any extra, with plastic wrap over the top, under the plastic lid, to prevent ice crystals from forming. Show more

Directions

  1. When margarine is very soft, place it in a food processor, with remaining ingredients and pulse to blend. Clean down sides with a rubber spatula, from time to time, as you stop the machine. When smoothly blended, pack into pint plastic containers and refrigerate. Freeze anything more than a pint. Keep refrigerated when not in use, as it will melt at room temperature!
