Taro Chicken

Ingredients

  • 12 lb  taro root (starchy yam with a rough, brown skin, not the sweet, orange-colored type)
  • 1 14 lbs chicken
  • 2  tablespoons ginger
  • 12 cup scallion
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1  teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1  dash sugar
  • 12 teaspoon cooking wine
  • 12 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1  teaspoon  oil

Directions

  1. Cut taro, chicken, and scallion into pieces (approx. 1").
  2. Coat chicken evenly with (A) and let sit for 25 minutes.
  3. Put everything on a plate and steam for 20 minutes at high heat.
