Taco Seasoning

Recipe originally found in 'Taste of Home's Quick Cooking', 2001. Used for Ground Beef and for Chicken/Turkey as well.

Ingredients

• 2  tablespoons chili powder
• 5  teaspoons paprika
• 4 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 3  teaspoons onion powder
• 3  teaspoons salt or 3  teaspoons  seasoned salt
• 2 1⁄2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

• Additional Ingredients

• 1  lb ground beef or 1  lb chicken
• 2⁄3-3⁄4 cup water

Directions

1. In a bowl, combine dry ingredients and store in airtight container in cool dry place for up to 6 months. This recipe will make approximately 3 batches of tacos.
2. Cook beef over medium heat till no longer pink and then drain.
3. Add water, and 1/2 cup of seasoning mix. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes uncovered.
