Szechwan Pepper Oil

I use this pepper oil all the time. It's great with pot-stickers, steamed dumplings, etc. I make this just for myself, my husband and kids won't touch it, they think I'm nuts. Show more

Yields: 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  peanut oil
  • 14 cup  dried red chili pepper, crushed (or coarsely ground)

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a wok on medium-high heat.
  2. Add chili peppers.
  3. Cook 3-5 minutes, or until oil becomes red.
  4. Cool and store in a covered jar in fridge indefinitely.
