Swiss Steak

This is another recipe for a Swiss steak, but is very good, just a little different, but oh so good !! Show more

Serves: 5-6

Ingredients

  • 1 12-2  lbs  round steaks
  • 2  tablespoons flour
  • 1  teaspoon salt
  • 18 teaspoon pepper
  • 1  tablespoon  salad oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1  large onion, sliced
  • 1  celery, sliced
  • 1  tablespoon  thick bottled  steak sauce

Directions

  1. Cut steaks into serving size pieces. Coat with flour, salt and pepper. In large skillet, or slow cookng pot with browing unit, brown meat in oil. Pour off excess fat. In slow cooking pot, combine meat with tomatoes, onion, celery, and steak sauce. Cover pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until tender. Thicken juices with additional flour dissolved in a small amount of water, if desired.
