  1. Cream butter; gradually add brown sugar, beating at medium speed on an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Add melted chocolate, coffee granules, and rum extract; mix well.
  4. Stir in flour and 1 cup chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes; cool completely.
  7. Chill.
  8. Garnish, if desired.
