Susan Strahm's Sugar Cookies

This came from a dear friend of my mom's in Nebraska.

• Serves: 24

Ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 1  cup shortening
• 2  eggs
• 2  teaspoons vanilla
• 6  tablespoons milk
• 4  cups flour
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 1  teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Cream first 5 ingredients together.
2. Sift the last 4 ingredients together, then mix with the rest.
3. Chill dough.
4. Roll out 1/2" thick & cut.
5. Bake at 375 for 8 - 10 minutes, just till barely brown. Don't overcook.
