Sunflower Seed Brittle

I don't remember where I got this, but it's a nice change from peanut brittle.

Yields: 3/4 lb.

Directions

  1. Butter a large baking sheet; set aside.
  2. Melt butter in small saucepan.
  3. Add seeds and salt and mix well.
  4. Keep warm.
  5. Melt sugar in heavy skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  6. When sugar is golden brown, quickly stir in warm seeds.
  7. Pour out onto baking sheet and spread with wooden spoon or spatula into 10" square.
  8. Let cool until firm.
  9. Break into pieces and store in air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
