Sugar & Spice Pecans

Please don't be put off by the unusual combination of spices in this recipe...they work wonderfully well together. Last year I made this and divided it up into canning jars to give as Christmas gifts...a big hit! Credit for recipe goes to Canadian Living Magazine. Show more

Directions

  1. In small bowl, combine sugar with spices.
  2. In large bowl, whisk egg whites until frothy; stir in pecans until coated.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar mixture, tossing with spoon to coat nuts evenly.
  4. Spread on 2 lightly greased baking sheets and bake in a preheated 325F (160C) degree oven, rotating sheets half way through, for 30 minutes or until coating is crisp and nuts are fragrant.
  5. Let cool.
